Charity Tennis Tournament
A group of local tennis players organised a tennis tournament at Haslemere Tennis Club on Tuesday 17th September for the Hunter Centre Dementia Day Care facility in Haslemere. Following the tournament they arranged a delicious lunch and raffle and raised the marvellous sum of £2,910 for this local charity. The chairman of the Trustees, Anne Downing welcomed and thanked the players, organizers Lindsey Lunn and Suzie Normanton together with their helpers and gave a short talk about the work of the charity, aimed at supporting the family of those with dementia as well as those with the disease itself.
The Hunter Centre funds were recently boosted by The Towns U3A cooks, The Gourmet Geezers. Ken Griffiths (Head Chef) presented a cheque for £ 3045.64. The Money was raised from sales of their very own cookbook and from a Gala Dinner held in May.
