Our Patron, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Michael More-Molyneux

We are delighted to welcome HM Lord-Lieutenant of Surrey, Michael More-Molyneux as a new patron of The Hunter Centre.He has lived in Surrey all his life and, since becoming Lord-Lieutenant in 2015, has been involved with many charities and good causes across the county.

Meet our Trustees

  • Anne Downing
    Chair of Trustees

    Anne moved to Haslemere in 1991. She is a retired Chartered Surveyor having worked for a publicly quoted property company.

    She had seen both a friend and uncle live with dementia and the effect it had on their families before becoming a founder Trustee of The Hunter Centre in 2017.

  • Richard Knight
    Trustee & Treasurer

    Dickie Knight is a Chartered Management Accountant, now semi-retired, but having spent many years in predominantly fashion retail businesses. He has lived in Hindhead for over 25 years, plays at Hindhead Golf Club, and is also a Trustee of Hoppa, the Waverley-based community transport charity.

  • Belinda Pope
    Trustee & Secretary

    Belinda has lived in Hindhead since 2008 and had a close family member living with dementia. She retired in July 2020 after 35 years working for a large IT and services company, most recently in project management and business operations. She is now keen to put those skills to use in supporting the charity and local community.

  • Mark Hurst
    Trustee

    Mark Hurst was a doctor at Haslemere Health Centre for thirty four years, and retired in 2015. He is now the President of the Haslemere Hospital League of Friends.

  • Martin Coakley
    Trustee

    Martin has been a High Street general practice lawyer in and around Haslemere for more than 40 years; as such he has a wealth of local contacts and experience in private client work.

    A founder trustee of The Hunter Centre, he is a committee member/trustee of the Haslemere & District Hospital League of Friends and a member of the Haslemere Health Group, holding a cross county border brief in each organisation. Additionally, he is a trustee of international music charity ‘The Commonwealth Resounds!

  • Jane Stopford
    Trustee

    Jane moved to Haslemere 23 years ago and worked as an Occupational Therapist in Petersfield. Following her retirement, she became involved in all aspects of community life in the town and has particularly enjoyed the last few years as Chairman of the Haslemere (Civic) Society. As her family decided to move away from London, she is lucky enough to have grandchildren nearby.

  • Kate Bradford
    Trustee

    Kate spent her career in advertising and design. She moved to Haslemere in 2013, shortly before retiring. She loves gardening, is a founding director of HasleWorks in the town centre and has recently joined The Hunter Centre as a Trustee. Like so many others, Kate cares for close family with dementia and hopes to make a difference in her role with our charity.

  • Malcolm Carter
    Ambassador

    Following retirement from 45 years in the Food Distribution Industry, Malcolm has been a Town Councillor and Charity Trustee. It was during his period as Mayor of Haslemere that the Hunter Centre was created and he was pleased to be a founding Trustee.

    Malcolm stepped down in 2023, but we are delighted that his association with The Hunter Centre continues as an Ambassador.

  • Margaret Barlow
    Ambassador

    Margaret was a local teacher and formerly a trustree of The Hunter Centre, before taking over the running of her late husbands estate on the edge of Haslemere. She cared for her husband who had dementia and was grateful for the services provided by Elaine and her team at this challenging time.

  • Phil Miller
    Town Council Representative

    Phil was voted onto Haslemere Town Council in May 2023 and joins the Trustee Board meetings as our guest Council Representative. Phil was involved in looking after his father who suffered from Alzheimer’s and has remained interested in work to support people with dementia. He wishes his father could have had access to all the benefits of a facility like the Hunter Centre. Phil feels privileged to support the work we do.
