HHH Coffee Concert presents Duo Ekeš

Once again HHH Concerts generously put on one of their free Charity Coffee Concerts in aid of The Hunter Centre on Saturday 24th January.

The doors of St Bartholomew’s Church, Haslemere opened early for coffee, cake and a chat before a wonderful programme from Duo Ekes, an emerging and talented violin-piano duo. Violinist Ezo Sarici and pianist Deniz Cengiz impressed us all with their musicality and artistry and their imaginative programme introduced lesser known as well as familiar works. We were treated to Beethoven’s marvellous violin sonata no 7 written when he knew he was losing his hearing, Schoenfeld’s imaginative dances, Lili Boulanger’s Nocturne et Cortege and a spirited introduction for many of us to Szymanowski, a Polish composer and pianist.

The applause, after an encore, was long and heartfelt. Margaret Barlow, a Hunter Centre Ambassador gave thanks to Ezo and Deniz for their magnificent performance and spoke of the work of The Hunter Centre in supporting those whose lives are affected by dementia.

We would like to thank everyone who came along to support us and who gave so generously on the day, HHH Concerts for putting on such a memorable concert, St Bartholomew's for the venue and the ladies from Haslemere WI for their very delicious cakes. The event raised £691 of which every penny will go towards the care and support provided at The Hunter Centre.
